The telecom giant Reliance Jio has announced its much anticipated high-speed broadband service – Jio Fiber and it’s set to officially launch on September 5.

Bundled with a landline phone connection and Direct to Home (DTH) services, Jio Fiber plans to offer home fibre broadband connection starting from the basic plan of ₹700 per month to ₹10,000 per month for premium customers. Jio aims to launch various plans that go up to ₹10,000 per month to meet the different needs of the consumers.

The basic plan coming under Jio Fiber offers a minimum speed of 100 Mbps. But, there are also other plans offering speeds up to 1 Gbps which would be priced higher. Users can opt for different broadband connection plans with speeds ranging from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps as per their needs.

JioFiber has also announced a ‘Welcome offer’ under which users who opt for the annual plans will get an HD or 4K LED TV along with a 4K set-top box for free.

Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

Let’s look at the various basic broadband plans announced by Jio:

  • Basic 100Mbps connection: Under this plan, Jio offers broadband connection with a minimum speed of 100Mbps.
  • Basic connection + GigaTV:  In this plan Jio offers additional access to GigaTV service through a set-top box apart from the broadband service.
  • Basic connection + GigaTV + IoT: The third plan, which is expected to be priced high, i.e. over Rs 1,000 per month, could offer GigaFiber broadband service, GigaTV subscription and a third IoT controller device to help users control smart appliances.

Jio has also made installation charges free of cost during the initial rollout period of the broadband service.

Jio said at AGM that “As part of our initial rollout we are offering complimentary Jio Fiber installation and connection to all our customers. Other than the refundable security deposit, as of now, there are no additional installation charges,”.

Apart from broadband services, Jio Fiber users will be eligible to avail various other benefits like Jio Home Phone, Jio Postpaid plus, Jio STB with gaming support among other benefits.

Due to the overwhelming response during the trials, Reliance Jio expects the broadband service to reach a minimum of 20 million homes and 15 million businesses across 1,600 towns. They have estimated a minimum of 50 million Jio Fiber users in the next 5 years.

In the first page, enter the address where you want to get a Jio Fiber connection. Therein, you need to submit your name, mobile no. & email id. You will then be required to enter the OTP sent to your phone. The application process is now complete.

Once done, you will get a message stating that once the feasibility is confirmed you will receive a call from Jio’s sales representative for further process.
